This is so true! I really dislike people who try to pretend they do the right thing or they only do the right thing when there are other people around. We should all strive to do the right thing no matter who is watching! Another one of my favorite quotes is "Be the person your dog thinks you are."

Again playing catch up!

Sorry again for the delay. My fiance deployed this weekend for 7-8 months :(. So it was a bit of an emotional weekend. But moving on!
Fashion Friday! I love this look - especially those neon heels. For some reason I have been on a yellow kick recently and those are adorable. I also like the Origami Owl locket because it combines more than one dangle which I feel like some people forget they can do! But it looks great and is a a perfect outfit for spring.

 Motivational Monday. I really connect with this quote. I feel like we sometimes wish we could change something that happened in the past. Whether there was something small or big, never turn away from an opportunity to learn and grow. Don't say "if only I could do this" or "if only I would have done that." Just go for it and next time an opportunity comes along - jump on it.

 

 

And today is Tagged Tuesday! I think a quote that could go along with this is " If you can dream it, you can do it." And who first said that - none other than Walt Disney! Another one of my favorite people. But this will help you remember that your dreams are always within your reach!

Show Your Support for Autism Awareness

April is Autism Awareness month so show your support. Today (April 2) is World Wide Autism Awareness Day. I myself was a little unclear on exactly what Autism is so I looked it up. Autismspeaks.org is a fantastic resource. Here is their definition of what Autism is. "Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. They include autistic disorder, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) and Asperger syndrome. With the May 2013 publication of the new DSM-5 diagnostic manual, these autism subtypes will be merged into one umbrella diagnosis of ASD.
ASD can be associated with intellectual disability, difficulties in motor coordination and attention and physical health issues such as sleep and gastrointestinal disturbances. Some persons with ASD excel in visual skills, music, math and art."

Now that we all know what Autism is here are some quick facts:

• Autism now affects 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys
• Autism prevalence figures are growing
• Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
• Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
• Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
• Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
• There is no medical detection or cure for autism
